In our continuing efforts to help reduce the cost of workstation ownership and provide cost effective, on-site, maintenance options on computer related equipment, Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES) currently offers an excellent hardware maintenance program to Hewlett-Packard, Silicon Graphics, and Sun Microsystems work-station owners. The Maintenance Center has been offering the these services for several years and our programs have developed into a closely knit arrangement with our parts providers, allowing the Maintenance Center to provide competitive maintenance prices and excellent service.

These partnership arrangements are viewed as holding potential benefit for the end-users on campus, CITES, and the product vendors. Because one of the purposes of our program is to reduce overall costs of campus computing, you should expect your costs to be below normal prices. If a hardware maintain ace contract was previously thought to be an unaffordable option in addressing your hardware needs, you may want to contact us for an agreement quotation.

Feel free to direct any questions, further information requests, or a request for a price quote specific to your computer equipment, to the Maintenance Center by phone, 333-3723, or via E-mail, cites-mc@uiuc.edu.

Ongoing Agreements

What is a maintenance agreement? A maintenance agreement is essentially a list of equipment, systems and corresponding peripherals, that has been agreed to be maintained by you and the Maintenance Center. This will be an ongoing agreement, with the renewals being automatically applied at the end of each fiscal year. Changes to or cancellation of this agreement can be made at any point during the year but require a 45 day advanced notice.
